The science navigator allows researchers to browse the hierarchical organization of science and thereby build a search context (or that 30,000 foot view of science). To do this, we first infer a hierarchical network from the hundreds of thousands of linked publications. Second, we label the structures of this hierarchical network using title, abstracts and fulltext when available.
To use the navigator, enter a query term. The navigator will populate the screen with all disciplines and connecting disciplines related to that term. Click on any node for an expanded view of the topics and papers therein, which can be downloaded directly in the viewer. (Note: the navigator is currently under development.)
